The Public Share folder will be phased out due to security issues that we cannot bypass after recent server upgrades. Instead, please utilize OneDrive for Business.
Important: Please note that if you share folders, the receiver will be required to signing in using their Microsoft account (or sign up for one). To avoid this, please zip up the file and uncheck "Require sign-in" when sharing the zipped file.
Share a file with lots of people
- Sign in to Office 365 with your work account at portal.office.com. Use your computer credentials as an Office 365 account should be assigned to you.
- At the top of any page in Office 365, select OneDrive. Or select , and then select OneDrive.
Note: The first time you click OneDrive, you will see some setup screens and instructions while your personal site is being set up. You may have to wait and then click OneDrive again before continuing to step 3. - Drag the files into your view to upload to OneDrive.
- Right click on file or folder and select Share.
- Type Everyone in the box under Invite people. Select the permission in the list that you want to grant people. You may also require sign-in (if a file).
- If you want, type a message to send to all the people you're inviting. The email message will include a link to the shared document.
- Click Share.
Share a file with specific people
- At the top of any page in Office 365, select OneDrive. Or select , and then select OneDrive.

You may have to wait and then click OneDrive again before continuing to step 2. - Upload files to OneDrive by dragging files or folders to your screen (see above under 'Share a file with lots of people'). You can also select the Upload button.
- Select the file you want to share, and then select Share.
- In the Share window, type the name of each person you want to share the file with. As you type each name, suggestions appear that match your contacts. When you see the name you want, select it to add it to the list.
- Select the permission in the list that you want to grant people. You can change the permission later for any person. You may also require sign-in (if a file).
- If you want, type a message to send to all the people you're inviting. The email message will include a link to the shared document.
- If you don't want to send an email, click Show Options, and then clear Send an email invitation.
- Click Share.
If you chose an e-mail to be sent, the following e-mail will be sent to the receiver's e-mail address. The receiver will have to click on the file (in this case "Dinner Timeline") to open the file.
